Affectu Quem Secreto, 2006 Instalation in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Affectu Quem Secreto is an 8-minute digital video commissioned by the Krasnoyarsk Museum of Contemporary Art (Russia) in conjunction with the Yerba Buena Center for Performing Art to mark the 200-year anniversary of early 19 century California romance between the Russian explorer, Nikolai Ryazanov of Fort Ross, and Concepcion Arguello, the daughter of Mexican comandante of Presidio in San Francisco. Ryazanov later died in Siberia, and Concepcion joined the Dominican sisterhood in Benicia, California, with which she remained until her death in 1857.
